Frequently asked questions
What do I need to get my web site off the ground?
You'll need to provide me with your domain
name (if you have one) and your web hosting company
name and login information (if you
have one). Textual content for your web site.
Images for your web site (if you have any). A
50% deposit is needed to begin work on your
web site.
What is a domain and what is web hosting?
A domain is an address (or URL) on the
internet. Web hosting is where you have your
web site files. Many people think that getting
a domain name is enough, but for a web site
to work you will need web hosting.
What web hosting do I need?
Don't worry if you don't have web hosting yet. I will
set you up on my server for less than $6 per mo.
I purchased a template but don't know how to add my own information. Can you do that?
Yes. I am able to customize most online web
templates to a certain degree. Please call to
discuss your particular needs.
How do I get a high ranking on Google?
Ah, the quest for a top spot. You are not alone
with this question. Everyone with a web site
has asked themselves the same thing.
Unfortunately, it's a rather lengthy answer. The short version
is as follows: First, it takes
time to get a good spot. Secondly, web pages
using relevant reciprocal links and those that
update their content regularly rank better
than those that don't. There are numerous
online operations out there that promise a top
10 spot for a fee. I hold no opinion on
these
and encourage you to research them after
your site is complete. As part of your
website
package
we will perform basic SEO (search engine optimization) which includes
meta tags
(keywords, description and title tags), google site
verification and search engine submission to over 25 of the more popular search engines.
How much do you charge?
Since every web site is unique I have found
that clients prefer to discuss their specific
web needs with me in order to obtain the
most accurate quote possible.
